I am trying to decide between a master's in social work, rehabilitation counseling or school psychology ... I really want to have a career that pay at least 3,500-4,000 a month and I have opportunity to advance. All 3 careers interest me, and I plan to apply to all 3 programs but IN YOUR OPINION which would be the best career and why? Thank you I am an excellent listener.. in fact I am known for that. I know my counselor has a master's in social work and she works for the university... thanks for refreshing my mind

The MSW is the credential for you to be a licensed psychotherapist. I have many associates who have this degree, jobs in counseling, and private practices on the side. Are you a good listener? If not, this is definitely not the career for you.

The MSW is a very good degree. In some states you will need continuing education classes . After you get your degree it is important to get licensed as most insurance companies require that. Many social workers have part-time private practices to supplement their jobs. However, getting a job as an administrator can also be good paying as a social worker. You can also work as a counselor at a university with the social work degree which can be very fulfilling. Meditator
