you need to do a CQSW or a social work degree however rather than starting a whole new degree, the uni you apply to will probably let you just do a post grad course which is shorter, i think it depends what branch of social work you wanna do honey hope this helps

That can vary with the school. You probably can, but you will likely have to take some extra classes to make up for what you missed in not majoring in social work at the BA level. To make sure, contact the school you want to do you masters at and ask your questions.

It depends on why and how you left the program. It you left or were asked to leave due to poor grades then you should indicate in your letter how you would be able to succeed this time. Since most graduate programs will not allow you transfer in credits you can not go to a second school to prove you can do Graduate level work. If you left for any reason other than poor grades such as family reasons you should indicate in your letter how you can balance school with the obstacles in life. In your letter don't beg, as it makes you look insincere but I would be firm. Ask the director if you can come back as a conditional student which mean you would have to have a certain GPA (usually 3.0) each semester in order to stay in the program. If you left due to grades be honest in the letter do not sugarcoat the issue.

Master in Psychology is mainly for research PhD in Counseling would give you a "doctor" status but its not the same as PHD in Psychology and would be 2nd choice in a job opening from those with a phd in psych master in counseling is good if you want to do clinical work msw you rarely do clinical work

Masters in counceling is for those who want be be a lisenced professional councelor (LPC) Masters in social work is like for the goverment working with placing children in homes or working for a group home. You could also be a case manager for a mental institution PsyD- doctorate of psychology is for psychologists

Master's in Counseling = 2 years in school. Focuses primarily on different techniques for counseling (school, therapy, drug counseling, etc.) PhD in Counseling (Psy-D) = 4 years in school. Focuses primarily on the above things, but now you are a Dr and you can have your own practice. These people are "Psychologists." You cannot prescribe medicine unless you do the M.D. portion in which case you would become a Psychiatrist. PhD in Human Services = 4 years and more of a social work/Human resources field. This is for people who want to run the health and human services aspect of a business want to become the owner/coordinator of a human services or social work environment (non-profit management). Master's in Social work (MSW)= same as above without the extra 2 years. Master's or PhD in Psychology = these people may become professors, researchers, therapists (although not Psychologists), or depending on the field of study you can do consulting (either environmental, organizational, or otherwise). A Master's degree is only 2 years and a PhD is usually 4 years. Most of the time you don't need a Master's to get a PhD (which is a doctorate of Philosophy). It looks like you're struggling between counseling, social work/human resources, and general psychology. Considering your degree is in comm, I'd consider counseling or social work. Psy can be brutal with all the statistics, biology you need to learn. But don't take my word for it. Look into the programs at the colleges and see what they think.

Can you get into the social work field with a masters in mental health counseling

Can you get into the social work field with a masters in mental health counseling?
Hello. From what I understand social workers can become licensed counselors. I was wondering if people that have masters in mental health counseling can cross over and find opportunities in social work as well or do employers look for people with masters in social work specifically?

Yes, you can. The counselor I used to go to has some sort of social work degree. Social work is a broad field and you can do a lot with it (counseling, patient/hospital stuff, mental health care, you can work with troubled kids and stuff like that) There's a lot you can do.
