I'm applying to the Master of Social Work program at my university next year and it offers five areas of specialization: 1) children and their families; 2) mental health and health; 3) diversity and social justice; 4) gerontology; and 5) social service administration. Which of these areas is most in demand and/or offers the best pay?

Any government job will pay the best. Local government county or federal have the most security I'd say. Social Administration to me has been the most useful training at the university level. It will prepare you for management which is invaluable in all disciplines in of social work.
